Christmas Special! Cincinnati Portrait Photography

Yesterday was overcast, cold and one of those days that makes you want to curl up with a hot cup of cocoa. I was out in the brisk weather with Kristen & Sam, having so much fun despite the cold temperatures, shooting their engagement photos. As I am looking at these photos on my computer the next day, I can't help but to feel the spirit of Christmas....

Erin - Trash the Dress Cincinnati

My last blog was Erin's boudoir session..... (Click HERE if you missed it). After her boudoir was over, we headed out for a Trash the Dress session with her! TTD Sessions are SO much fun.... I know that "Trash the Dress" sounds a little scary, but trust me (from personal experience!) you can go anywhere you want with this sort of session, including a quick trip to the dry cleaners & you're good to go again. (Others... myself included... like to REALLY trash it!) It's totally up to you!

If you're just now joining in, I spent last Sunday with a great group of photographers (Allie, Chris, Annie & Toby, Cailyn, Sheila, and Sarah) and we did several sessions in one day... It was awesome! Click their names to be shot over to their websites!

Erin - Boudoir Portraits - Cincinnati

If you missed my last post, I spent last Sunday with a great group of photographers (Allie, Chris, Annie & Toby, Cailyn, Sheila, and Sarah) shooting up a storm together.... One of the shoots we (the female photographers!) did was a Boudoir session of the ridiculously stunning Erin.... Photos from a Boudoir session make a great gift for your husband-to-be or for Valentine's Day, an anniversary... You name it!

PLEASE NOTE: The following photos have been shot very tastefully, but they ARE sexy & a bit risque :o) So if you don't want to see.... Don't scroll!

This last weekend I had an awesome time with a group of photographers, both local & afar, doing a Trash the Dress workshop. It was a great experience of working alongside other professionals learning from each other & tossing around new ideas. I absolutely love networking with other photographers & this was the best time I've had doing it yet!

Anyways, we gathered up a group of models & shot a total of FOUR Trash the Dress sessions AND a Boudoir session within one days time! Let's just say I could barely move the next morning :o)

In case you are unfamiliar with what I'm talking about here's a definition from our friends at Wikipedia:

Trash the Dress Session: "Trash the dress refers to photographs that contrasts elegant clothing with an environment in which it is completely out of place. It is generally shot in the style of glossy beauty and glamour photography... It may also be done as an additional shoot after the wedding, almost as a declaration that the wedding is done and the dress will not be used again. It is seen as an alternative to storing the dress away, never to be seen again."

A Boudoir session in relation to photography, is becoming a new trend for brides-to-be. It is especially popular to do as a gift for your groom..... See examples below :o) Pictures speak louder than words!

Happy Election Day!

Just a reminder to everyone to please make your voice heard & VOTE today! As I stood in line waiting to vote I got a little choked up... just watching everyone there casting their ballots for either presidential nominee, helping to make history! It was really awesome!

Lindsay & Andy - Wedding - St. Teresa of Avila Cincinnati

A few posts ago I talked about Lindsay & Andy's Engagement session (click here if you missed it) - Well Saturday was their big day! It was a BLAST!

Their ceremony was held at the beautiful St. Teresa of Avila parish in Cincinnati. I enjoyed shooting in this church so much - I couldn't get enough of the little details that made this place so amazing!

Becky at McCabe's Greenhouse & Floral did an awesome job with creating such beautiful boquets.

After the ceremony we had time to kill before the reception so I piled in the limo with the bridal party & we headed downtown for a mini-photoshoot

The reception was held at Twin Lanters and was perfect down to every detail...
